Zero Bucks Given
We designed and directed a film to announce Canva’s new software ‘Affinity’ — a powerful 3-in-1 design tool made by creatives, for creatives.
We chose to focus on the emotional experience of the creative process rather than going through the features; interpreting “free” as ‘creative freedom’ rather than just cost.
Combining 3D and 2D animation with kinetic typography and hand-drawn illustration into a bold, mixed-media, ‘in-your-face’ hype film that balances storytelling elements with product demonstration. For the walk cycle, we invited real ‘Affinity’ users to contribute one frame each to give added authenticity and create a sense of creative community.
