The Monster Who Came To Tea
Told through a blend of children’s storybook animation and live action, The Monster Who Came to Tea opens in a calm, safe space: a mother reading a bedtime story to her daughter. At first it feels like a playful retelling of a children’s classic, but this is no fairy tale. The monster who arrives has a charming smile and blue eyes, yet once inside he devours food, snarls insults, and floods the house with fear. The mother falters, the monster grows louder, and the child grows quieter, until a knock reveals the story is their reality. Created for Women’s Aid.
