Menstrual Health Project 'That Time Of The Month'

This film for Menstrual Health Project highlights the suffering of those with Endometriosis. The sound design brief was to evoke strong emotional response, depict pain and add intensity. Foley was used to create impacts, tearing, ripping and slimy textures. These were mixed alongside creature effects and traditional horror elements - low rumbles, atmospheres, stabs and risers. Layers of sound were added throughout the film to grab attention and build intensity. The bespoke score is occasionally kept low in the mix to allow the sound design to shock. The quiet resolve as the pumpkin turns only helps the final words land.
