HEAR THEM OR GRIEVE THEM

Family courts have long prioritised parental contact, over child safety, even when one is abusive. In the last decade, Women’s Aid reported 19 more children killed by a parent. All preventable, had the children been heard.

We gave them a voice. A choir of 19 children sang in protest outside Parliament.

Lovely by BillieEilish was reframed as a story of domestic abuse. Each child was silenced, like the 19 silenced by the justice system.

The campaign and Women’s Aid’s efforts were so successful that the Government announced they’re removing the presumption of contact from law.
