BYSTANDER

Created for UN Women UK, this film was designed to confront the quiet complicity that allows gender-based harassment and abuse to continue; bystander silence. Instead of focusing on perpetrators, the story places the audience inside everyday moments where harm unfolds in plain sight. Through restrained performances and naturalistic tension, viewers are positioned not as observers but as witnesses. The film deliberately builds emotional complicity before confronting the audience with a direct call to action. By shifting responsibility from "someone should act" to "I should act" the piece reframes the bystander as an active participant in the outcome.
