Absolut Tabasco

The film was built in two parts. Firstly, filming on location, on the dormant volcanic fields of Reykjavík. The volcanologists were styled in reflective, charred silver protective suits that matched the helicopter, creating a unified synergy within the landscape. Second, by scanning the same volcanic fields we created a 12 metre scale model volcano and a more detailed 2 metre ‘brunch spot’ model. Constructed in a studio using a combination of paint and volcanic ash, earth and rocks. Bloody Mary liquid was then poured down the crevices and lit from beneath to create a glowing eruption and lava flow.
