Jade - Church

Collaborating with director Billy King, I crafted a grade inspired by early Technicolor 2-strip film that amplifies the camp-folk-horror universe Billy conceived through incredible costume and casting choices. Using Baselight's Chromogen tool, we engineered a look honouring two-strip processes while preserving natural skin tones and allowing Maximilian Raynor's bold costumes to pop. We added a strong printy curve to submerge broad image areas into rich darkness, establishing the film's dreamy, theatrical atmosphere.For texture, we applied filmic MTF using the texture equalizer tool and grain to remove high-frequency detail, creating a softer, more dreamlike aesthetic that complements the video's haunting narrative.
