JUAN CABRAL

The Presidents Award is presented to an individual who’s made an extraordinary creative mark on the British Advertising Industry over the last year or so.

This award has only one judge. Me. And to be honest, I found it pretty easy to come to a decision.

This year, the best of British Advertising Award goes to someone who comes from Argentina…

Juan Cabral.

As you all know, Juan is one of the fastest rising creative stars in the business.

We first started to notice him when he joined Mother back in 2001, where he worked on Orange, The Observer and Fray Bentos.

But it was his move to Fallon and his subsequent mould-breaking work for Sony that really put him in the spotlight.

Deservedly, Sony Balls was the biggest award winner of 2006.

But not content with firing 250,000 coloured balls over San Francisco, Juan went on to explode thousands of gallons of paint over a Glasgow tower block and infest Times Square with hundreds of Play Doh rabbits.

He showed the industry that long copy wasn’t dead with his Tate Modern print campaign.

And of course he not only wrote but also directed last years most talked about commercial, The Cadburys Drumming Gorilla.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the winner of the 2008 Creative Circle Presidents Award, the brilliant Mr Juan Cabral.
